GO ANGELS!

We just love the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim... yes I know it is a lame name, but they are so awesome that 2 cities have to lay their claim in the title. We really enjoy seeing them play live and Gabe was able to get some tickets for free through work yesterday, and somehow that made the game even better! (It didn't hurt that they won either). We can't wait until we can take Logan to a game with us... and actually enjoy it... next year maybe?

We have 10 fruit trees in our backyard thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Elliott. First came the apricots... apricot jam, apricot pie... yummy. Now we are enjoying a few different kinds of plums, well Logan is for sure. I am pretty sure he is making an offering to the plum gods in this picture... he can't get enough plums! Unfortunately the birds ate all the cherries. Boo.

Captain Underpants!

DISCLAIMER: This post is rated PG for potty talk and may be somewhat boring to those who don't really care to know the specifics of me potty training Logan... I just wanted to document the process in case I need to ever do it again with some future offspring.

Logan is potty training! I suppose a child isn't officially potty trained until you don't have to remind them, supervise them, encourage them, and wipe their butt... but otherwise Logan is potty trained! It all started 6 months ago when Logan was getting out of the bath and he asked if he could go poop. I thought he just wanted to play so I put him on the toilet and he actually went! I thought it was a fluke so since then I have given 3 half-hearted attempts at potty training. Many of you know that I will be starting nursing school in 2 weeks so I decided maybe I should just give the potty training one last go before I start.

Day One (Monday): Logan has six accidents before his afternoon nap and has only used the toilet 2 times... Why am I doing this... this is stupid, he is not ready. After the nap... 3 more wet underwear and one poop directly on the carpet. Well I guess that is some improvement so I will give it one more day.

Day Two: NO ACCIDENTS! I couldn't believe it!!! Logan did not have one single accident the whole day! However he also did not poop the entire day. Ever since Logan was about 8 months old he has been wearing 2 diapers to bed due to his overactive nighttime bladder, but after day two, Logan woke up with a dry diaper!!! This is awesome.

Day Three: Logan experiments a little, tries standing on TOP of his toddler potty and peeing instead of sitting on it, otherwise accident free, and finally poop on the potty!

The rest of the week Logan is consistently using his toddler potty while at home and the public restrooms while out. He has gone poop on the potty every day and he has just amazed me with his potty skills. In this picture Logan is dancing on the couch and showing off his muscles.

I'm A Pony!!!

So when Logan gets excited he likes to prance and stick his hand in the air. I started teasing him about this by saying "I'm a pony, I'm a pony!" every time he did it. We recently found this stick horse in the storage shed and the first time Logan played with it, he galloped around saying "I'm a pony, I'm a pony!" I still can't stop laughing.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Logan just loves it when his daddy is home to play in the sprinklers with him. We celebrated Gabe's 29th birthday on the first and Logan cannot stop singing Happy Birthday. He thinks it is so fun. For Independence Day we went to the beach and Logan was a MANIAC trying to run into the water as far as he could go. We finally got him interested in playing in the sand and building castles and such. He started putting sand into the frisbee and pretending it was a birthday cake and singing Happy Birthday then dumping out the sand cake only to start all over again. After about the 20th birthday cake (and song) he decided, hey, if this is a birthday cake, i better taste it!... And he did, a giant fistful of sand right in the mouth! We had a lot of fun at the beach. Afterwards we watched fireworks at a lake near Tyler and Carly's house and Logan is still talking about them, he really had a good time. We really enjoy our family time together.

Mom and Dad are COOL!

Mommy's sunglasses and daddy's hat are the coolest items around. It probably wont take long for that to fade. One day I am sure he will think everything we do is dorky but he sure likes to get into our stuff right now and it sure is cute!
